Yesterday I went to my sister's house near Moutrie to have Thanksgiving.  My Brother-in-law, Fred Whitfield, was excited to show me this new dirt track that was being built.  He told me it was being built by a couple of local men (he calls them boys cause he's old!) named Justin Weeks and Chris Hunnicutt who race stock cars around here.

We go down this little dirt farm road into the back of someone's cotton field and these guys have built a track that I just didn't expect.  It is huge and wide and banked like no dirt track I have ever seen.  I'd say it is a little bigger than Albany Motor Speedway(dirt) and a little smaller than Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, GA.  The track reminds me a lot of Cordele as far as the shape and banking go, but it is much wider.

I'm telling you that 60 karts could race on this track at the same time at speeds that are normally only seen at tracks like Possum Kingdom, or the now closed track in Baker/Crestview Florida.

I don't know the guys who built it, and I don't know what their intentions are with the track, but I would love to race there in a kart, legends car, or stock car.

There are a bunch of stock cars around here in what we call the  "pure stock" or "hobby stock" class, and this would be perfect for them.

Does anyone have any more information on this track?

I know one of these gentlemen.  We previously raced go karts against some people he sponsored.  He has enough money to run a nice track.

I talked with him about 9 months ago.  He initially started building a track in their "back yard" to have fun on.  We we were invited down to play with our car; however we just run asphault.

Thes are good guys and take their racing seriously.  I wouldn't bet against them; however, if they want to, they can just keep the track to play on.  They have the money to do it.
